Eagle Scout Buzz Eckelkamp lives up to the Eagle Scout challenge as he continues to serve Scouting and his community. He has served as an assistant Scoutmaster and a committee member of Troop 439, chartered to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, for the last 28 years. When his son joined Cub Scouts, he volunteered as an assistant den leader for Pack 439. He served his district as commissioner and chairman during a six-year span. He currently serves as the district finance chairman and is a third generation member of the council’s Executive Board. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association and the Franklin County Bar Association. He was a board member and served as president of the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce and the Washington Chamber Ambassadors Club. He also is a member of the Washington Rotary Club. He is an active member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and a member of the board of directors for the American Heart Association, the Missouri State Parks Foundation and the Backstoppers. He serves as rescue captain for the Washington Volunteer Fire Department. He received his district’s Award of Merit.
