Jim May displayed patience and understanding in helping thousands of Scouts reach their full potential during the last 17 years. He was a Tiger Cub partner, a den leader, Webelos leader, committee chairman, Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for Pack and Troop 939, chartered to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He also was Advisor for Venture Crew 2829, chartered to St. Norbert’s Catholic Church. He served his district as camporee advisor, Friends of Scouting trailblazer and crew chief, Order of the Arrow chairmanship advisor, unit commissioner, and assistant district commissioner. He currently is serving as the commissioner for the North Star District. He attended Philmont in 2004 and the inaugural Philmont Photography Workshop in 2011. He attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference in 2009. He is the recipient of his chapter’s Outstanding Arrowman Award. He served on National Youth Leadership Training staff for the last seven years as Scoutmaster, assistant youth advisor and program director. He completed Wood Badge training and is serving on the course staff. He received his districts’ Award of Merit and is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. He and his wife, Sue, have been married for 26 years and have four children: Nicholas, an Eagle Scout, Michael, and twin daughters Erin and Ailaina, members of Venture Crew 2829.
