Fred Lee’s love for and dedication to Scouting helped him influence and change the lives of hundreds of young men and adults.
He restarted Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop 147, chartered to the Washington Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, 21 years ago. He continues to serve as Scoutmaster and assistant Cubmaster, the positions he served in when the units were restarted. From the initial meeting of five Scouts, it grew to serve hundreds of youth throughout the following decades. Fifteen young men earned the rank of Eagle Scout during his tenure, and he continues to assist Scouts as a merit badge counselor.
He served his district as its recognition dinner chairman and Scouting for Food chairman. He raised funds for the Scouting program as a trailblazer and district Friends of Scouting chairman.
He is an active member of the Spriritual Newbirth Christian Ministries and serves on the board of trustees for Washington Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church. He coaches girls youth basketball teams, is active with the mentoring program in the St. Louis Public Schools and Ladue Middle School, and is a career-building mentor for Archer Engineers, Inc.
He received his district’s Award of Merit and is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He and his wife, Rhonda, are the proud parents of an Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Gold Award recipient.
