Robert Larson gained a deep understanding of the value of Scouting during his 31 years of service. He strengthened the Scouting program throughout his community by sharing his knowledge of the program’s benefits. He was Cubmaster of Pack 830, chartered to Meramec Heights Elementary School, for four years. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 451 for four years. He nurtured parents and leaders to provide a program that was challenging, fun and meaningful. He served as a unit commissioner for nine years and is in his 12th year as assistant district commissioner. He is in his 16th year of service on the district Eagle Board of Review and also was the board chairman for three years. He served as church council president and Educational Committee chairman at St. Thomas-Holy Spirit Lutheran Church during a six-year period. He was chairman of the physical science department at St. Louis Community College at Meramec and a past grand marshal of the school’s graduation ceremony. He was sponsor of the Engineering Club at Meramec for 10 years and was a member of the Coordinating Board of Higher Education. He completed Wood Badge training and received the Commissioners Arrowhead Award, District Key Three Award and his district’s Award of Merit.
