Wayne Karcher identifies problems and finds solutions to help Scouts, leaders and the community.
He was a den leader and Cubmaster for Pack 181, chartered to Grace United Church of Christ. He served as an assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 181 for the last 18 years. More than 20 young men achieved the rank of Eagle Scout during his tenure. He was the advisor for a trek to the Philmont Scout Ranch in 1998.
He served on the district training committee for the last 10 years, three as chairman. He served on the staff of eight district camporee, three Klondike Derbies and numerous district merit badge centers. He helped raise funds for Scouting as a Friends of Scouting trailblazer. He was on the staff of Cub Scout Adventure Camps for five years. He was the adult advisor for his Order of the Arrow chapter’s ceremonial teams.
He is an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ where he served on the finance board, the administrative board and the pastoral search committee. He served on the School Board of United Community of Christ School for five years.
He is the father of two Eagle Scouts.
He received his district’s Award of Merit.
