David Holdmeyer’s unselfish and faithful service to Scouting, his church and community provides an outstanding example for all to follow.
During the last 14 years, he served as either assistant Scoutmaster or Scoutmaster of Troop 439, chartered to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. He led a trek to Philmont in 2011. He served his district’s Family Friends of Scouting campaign as a trailblazer.
He is a lifelong member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and served on its parish council, school board and finance committee. He has assisted St. Francis Borgia Regional High School with annual fundraising events and the cross-country program. He coached youth baseball for seven years.
He served as a firefighter with the Washington Volunteer Fire Company for 25 years. He achieved the rank of captain and was Firefighter of the Year in 1982. He served on the city of Washington Building Code Board of Appeals. He coordinated the National Association of Letter Carrier’s annual food drive in Washington for 11 years.
He is the father of three Eagle Scouts and a Life Scout who is finishing his Eagle project.
He is a Brotherhood Honor member of the Order of the Arrow and received his district’s Award of Merit.
