2013 Summer Camp Provisional Troop

For 2013, the New Horizons Camping Committee will operate a Provisional Troop for Summer Camp at S-F. This will be at Camp Gamble on Pratt Campsite, the week of July 14-20. Dave DeVeydt will serve as Scoutmaster for this unit. He will be assisted by Bruce Mayberry and Mike Ukman. A signup form is attached.

Why a Provisional Troop? To make available an opportunity for Scouts to attend Summer Camp who cannot otherwise attend with their regular unit. The reasons are many: summer school; family vacation conflict; Troop going out-of-council, but Scout cannot go with them; Troop only doing a high adventure trip and Scout is either ineligible or cannot attend; etc.

This will be regular summer camp with all the usual opportunities. Please make this information available to your Scouts. They can use the attached form to sign up. Those attending can pay their camp fee directly to the Council Camping office with the notation “NH Provisional Troop.” Those that sign up and pay before May 1 are eligible for Camper Savings Day. Any questions can be directed either Scoutmaster Dave DeVeydt (contact info on the form) or District Camping Chairman Craig Winney.
