Popcorn Fundraiser -- Free Camp, College Scholarships, Prizes, and More

When asked why they want to join Scouting, youth say things like "camping," "shooting sports," and "having fun with friends."  They almost NEVER say "to sell stuff!"  However, we all know the importance of having a well-funded unit treasury in order to provide a sustainable and quality program for those Scouts.

The annual Popcorn Fundraiser aims to do just that, while ALSO teaching Scouts about personal responsibility and salesmanship.  Our 2012 sale was a huge success for many packs, troops, and crews across our council!

A special thanks to North Star District Popcorn Chairman Dave Wickersheim as well as the North Star Chapter of the Order of teh Arrow for providing service sorting and distributing the popcorn at the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

Prizes will be delivered directly to unit popcorn kernels (or whomever placed the popcorn and prize order online).

Dec. 7 -- All money owed must be submitted to the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America no later than today.

Dec. 31 -- Deadline to register for FREE CAMP INCENTIVE.  Cub Scouts selling $1,100 and Webelos [II] Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers selling $2,000 are eligible.

Dec. 31 -- Deadline to submit completed TRAILS END COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP form and/or proof of sales.  Any youth selling $2,500 or more the first year is eligible to start, then total sales each year must be reported.  For more info, visit Trails End.
