Camping—Craig Winney
Fall Camporee will be October 12-14 at Beaumont. Our theme is "Gateway to Space", and Campmaster Ian Steiner, along with Webelos Campmaster Ryan Schaper are working on plans for a great, fun event. The Camporee manual will be available later this month on the New Horizons page of the Council website and e-mailed to unit leaders. Camping will be in the Shippey Area. Activities will be held in the Lane and Nusser areas. Camp areas will be assigned upon arrival. Please read the manual for details.
Webelos and their leaders are encouraged to attend for the entire weekend. This is a great opportunity for Troops to host their potential new Scouts in a fun setting and get them excited about crossing over into the Boy Scout program. As usual, Webelos and their Leaders will camp with sponsoring Troops. Any Webelos Den without a sponsoring Troop should contact one of our District Executives or your District Camping Chairman for help. We will find a Troop from your area to host you for the weekend. The Webelos section of the Camporee Manual will have more information.
Scoutmasters, do you have older scouts who think Camporee is only for the younger Scouts? Then encourage them to join the Camporee Staff. Fun, fellowship, GREAT food, and an opportunity to demonstrate those leadership skills they have learned await. Any Scout, Star Rank and above is eligible. Staff applications will be available on the website when the Manual is ready, or interested Scouts can contact either Ian Steiner or Ryan Schaper for information.
