Scouting for Food, originally organized in the St. Louis area, has grown to become the nation's largest single-day food drive! Over 30,000 Scouts participate
annually in our council's food drive, collecting approximately two million items of food for local pantries. Most tell us this food drive alone keeps their shelves stocked for three to four months! We need your help to ensure we collect as much food as possible for this food drive! Your participation helps teach Scouts about the needs of their communities and they are rewarded when they return to pick up that food and then see it taken off to help those individuals.

IMPORTANT DATES
Thursday, Oct. 4 (Roundtable) - Pick up maps (also available below) at Roundtable. During the month of October, review the maps for accuracy and let us know if you are unable to cover the area or would be willing to cover additional area (additional area may not be available nearby).
By Oct. 15 - Submit the
School Collection Commitment Card.pdf if you would like the St. Louis Foodbank to deliver a collection barrel to your school. This will assist our collection and will be in place from Oct. 22 to Nov. 2. We will deliver and pick up the barrel; no action is required on your part other than to acquire approval from the school.
Thursday, Nov. 1 (Roundtable) - Pick up Scouting for Food bags for your unit to use. A unit leader must attend Roundtable to pick up bags.
Saturday, Nov. 10 - Bag distribution day. Remind Scouts to simply tie bag to handle; avoid opening doors if possible. Stay within your assigned territory.
Saturday, Nov. 17 - Bag collection day. Remind Scouts to never enter a residence! Cover assigned territory and look on porches for food. Take food to assigned firehouses immediately. It is a good idea to drive around territory a second time in the afternoon looking for bags set out late as we receive a lot of calls regarding missed bags.
TERRITORY MAPS -- If there is not a map linked for your unit let us know.
*Most Venturing Crews will help sort and load food at the individual firehouses.
